Things to consider for Free Washi Tape Storage:

  • Collect cardboard boxes from anything you can if you are using SVG templates. Try not to use cardboard that is excessively shiny, as glue tends to become unstuck.
  • Collect the dividers that hold prepackaged cookies.
  • Save block cheese boxes.
  • Checkout granola bar boxes. Some are wide enough for washi tape and can be cut shorter to fit in a drawer.

Household Containers as Free Washi Tape Storage

  • The container on the left was from Oreo cookies or Sandwich Creme Cookies. This size seems to hold most standard washi tape and smaller rolls.
  • The container in the middle was from Chewy Chips Ahoy or a larger cookie. This size is great for larger washi tape rolls.
  • The container on the right is from block cheese. These seem to hold larger washi tape, standard washi and smaller.

SVG Box Templates To Organize Washi Tape

  • The nice thing about SVG boxes is you can choose different size SVG box templates to fit the amount of washi tape you currently have, and then you can adjust as your supply increases or decreases.
  • SVG boxes also give you the ability to add different sizes to arrange like puzzle pieces for your container or drawer.
  • SVG templates pictured are 2x3x2, 2x3x4, 2x3x5, 2x3x6

Finished Organized Washi Tape

  • The picture on the right show how you can place different sizes or shapes in the same containers.

Washi Tape Organization Idea (Not free)

  • Pros and Cons about Washi tape stored in K-Cup storage containers.
  • They are great if you have counter or shelf space and do not have drawers or empty containers. They hold a ton of washi tape.
  • SVG K-Cup Storage boxes are great because you can make more as you need them with only purchasing one template.
  • Our SVG K-Cup Storage Template is the same as our SVG Craft Supply Storage. The drawers are meant to be snug so that it gives more support for heavier items. (If you want it to move more freely, just group the entire drawer insert templates and slightly drag the corner to decrease all dimensions.)
  • You can move the dividers provided with our templates to accommodate different size washi tape.
  • Metal or wood store bought K-Cup Storage containers are great because they are very durable.
  • The black one I have pictured does not allow me to remove the drawers.
  • You are limited to the size washi tape they will store, unless you turn the rolls long ways.
